Words Walks Wisdom (2019)This is a book rooted in nature. It tells of a journey made necessary by the dis-connect between lessons we can find in nature and those taught by well-meaning peers in a fraught society. After reaching burn out for the third time in as many years, a woman searching for career success, is taken to a Buddhist Monastery by her very wise daughter and simply left there to 'sort herself out.' What happens there is an epiphany and the start of a three year period of sifting, sorting and reflection and ultimately a rediscovery of true self.
Wendy Bowers can’t take a year out in a camper-van, she still has demanding caring responsibilities and a living to earn, but she finds a way to carve out time for herself every day, to re-connect with nature and to explore new ways of being. This book is a compilation of verse inspired by nature and love, beautiful walks which sooth the soul and a memoir interwoven with gentle lessons for the reader to reflect on, long after the last page is turned.
