​Never again

​Today we are born anew
We get to breathe
We get to live
It’s a miracle.
 
Be aware
That you can stretch your limbs
And throw the covers back,
For this alone, say thank you.
 
And, in the midst of your
driving, phoning, emailing,
eating, talking, spending
loving, singing, laughing…
remember
for all these things
be grateful.
 
And in the midst of your
wanting, hurting, envying
worrying, goading, criticizing,
hating, lying…..
remember
all these things
you can let go.
 
There will be another day I know
But never this one
Never again.
